Dehradun is situated in the north Indian state of Uttaranchal
around 235 km from Delhi.
About the city
Being the capital city of North Indian state of Uttaranchal,
Dehradun forms a beautiful escapade from the dust and din of the
scorching heat of the Delhi city. This is one of the most popular
hill station and resort that can entice almost anybody on earth.
Perched on the thickly forested valley, Dehradun is quite famous for
its fruits orchids. Located 235 kms from Delhi, Dehradun is host a
number of tourists attractions that are worth visiting. Blessed with
moderate climate, Dehradun is best visited during November and
December. Being the enticing capital city, Dehradun is generally

The Tapkeshwar Temple
This is one of the most popular temple of the region. The deity of
this temple is Lord Shiva. The temple stands majestically on the
outskirts of the city. It is just 5.5 kms from the city bus stand.
Tapovan
Tapovan Located 5 kms away from the dust and din of the city,
Tapovan is a picturesque destination to explore. According to the
legend, this is the place where Guru Droncharya did his penance.
Rajaji National Park
Known for its scenic beauty, Rajaji national Park is a paradise for
nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. Blessed with green flora and
fauna, Rajaji national park is a resplendent beauty in itself.
Spanning over an area of about 820 sq kms, Rajaji host a magnificent
ecosystem Nestled in the Shivalik ranges, this national park adds a
lot to Dehradun attractions.
Forest Research Institutes
This also forms one of the major attractions. Established by the
British, this is one of the finest of its kind. The FRI houses a
Botanical museum and is one of the finest in the world and stands in
extensive grounds amongst fine plantations of many species of forest
wealth.
